The Maïdo and the route of the beaches

From your place of care, you will drive towards the heights of Saint-Paul, a city located in the West of reunion to Maïdo. You will cross a beautiful forest of tamarins, before reaching the Maïdo which will offer you an exceptional panorama on the circus of Mafate and the West coast of Reunion Island.

You will then have the opportunity to visit the House of geranium located in Petite-France to discover the culture of geranium and to witness a distillation in the purest tradition of reunion. You will then join the Tour des roches located in Saint-Paul.

Its lush vegetation and water mill is worth a visit. Then you will discover the Forain market of Saint-Paul and its authentic products, located on the seafront (Friday and Saturday morning).

You will then visit the marine cemetery, located on the seafront of St. Paul. A place laden with history, which houses tombs of famous characters including the pirate la Buse. A few meters away you will discover the Cave of the first Frenchmen.

This cave would have served as a refuge for the first Frenchmen who landed on the island in 1946. You will continue along the ocean to Cape Lahoussaye, a site reputed for diving, and to admire the whales when it is the period. Summer road will then offer you a magnificent panorama on a part of the West Coast.

You will continue your excursion along the West Coast to discover the beaches (Boucan canot, the Hermitage, Trou d’Eau, the beach of black sand of the Etang-Salé).
